This guide covers the two most common methods for setting up a WiFi extender wirelessly. No cables are required for this setup.

Method 1: Using WPS (Quick Setup)

Plug your extender into a power outlet close to your main router.
Wait for the Power LED to become solid.
Press the WPS button on your main router.
Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your extender.
Wait for the Signal LED to turn on. If it stays on, the setup is complete.
Relocate the extender to a spot roughly halfway between your router and the dead zone.

Method 2: Using the Web Interface

Plug the extender into an outlet near your router.
On your smartphone or computer, open your WiFi settings and connect to the extender's default network (usually named "WiFi-Extender" or similar).
Open a web browser and enter the default access IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.254) in the address bar.
Create an admin password if prompted.
Select your main router's WiFi network from the list of available networks.
Enter your main router's WiFi password.
Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the configuration and wait for the extender to reboot.

Troubleshooting Connection Failures

Extender not finding your WiFi?

Ensure your router's 2.4GHz or 5GHz broadcast is enabled. If the SSID is hidden, you must enter it manually in the web interface.

Incorrect Password Error?

Passwords are case-sensitive. Double-check for extra spaces at the end of the password string.

Device connected but no internet?

This is often an IP conflict. Try restarting both your router and the extender. If the issue persists, a factory reset is recommended.

How to Factory Reset:

Locate the small hole labeled 'Reset'. Use a paperclip to press and hold the internal button for 10 to 15 seconds while the device is plugged in. The LEDs will blink, indicating the reset is complete.

Pro Tip

For best results, ensure the extender is placed in an open area, away from large metal objects or appliances that might interfere with the signal.
